6 large cloves garlic
2 leeks, stiff dark green leaves & roots removed
1 large white onion
1 yellow onion
1 large bunch of kale
fresh herbs: oregano, flat parsley, thyme, rosemary, basil
2 bay leafs

Here is how you make Get Better Soup (vegetarian):

Medium chop the onion.Smash garlic with side of large knife.Sautee smashed garlic cloves until golden brown on both sides, remove from pan.Begin sauteeing onion until just soft.Slice leeks into 1/4 inch tall medallions, place in a bowl of cold water. Break up rings. Let sit.Carefully slice and dice the peeled tomatoes, on a cutting board with a spill catch ring, or do carefully a couple at a time.When the onions are just soft, add the tomatoes, turn up heat. Finely chop 1/2 fresh herbs, add to pan.Mince the sauteed and cooled garlic(it will be pasty now), add to pan.Stir occasionally.When tomatoes are softer, and a little beaten up, add the tomato juice and heat on high until boiling.Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add bay leaves.Cover and let boil, once boiling, turn to medium-low. Meanwhile, prepare kale:On a large cuttingboard, hold the bottom tip of the stem in left hand. Hold firmly. Grab bottom of leaf with right hand, and pull firmly along stem to remove all leaf. Discard stem.Once all leaves have been removed, medium chop the kale.After about 20 minutes of boiling (like when the kale is ready, and you've cleaned up a bit) add the rings of leeks.Leave the top off and stir and watch. When the leeks get very bright color (3 minutes) add the second half of the finely chopped herbs.
