1 can (15 oz) chick-peas, drained

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and jalapeno. cook, stirring, for 3 min. Add the tomatoes and cook, stirring, for 3 to 4 min. Stir in the curry powder, cumin, pepper, salt, and tumeric and cook for 1 min. Add the squash, water, and chick-peas and bring to a simmer over med.-high heat. Lower the heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until the squash is tender, 20 to 25 min. To thicken, mash the squash against the side of the pan with the back of a spoon.
