The ingredients for Tofu Marsala are:

14 - 16 oz of firm or extra firm tofu
.5 cup Marsala wine
1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
1 large shallot chopped
8 oz Cremini or white mushroom sliced
2 tbs. cornstarch
2 tbs. flour
1 tbs tomato paste
1 tbs olive oil
1 tbs butter
salt and pepper to taste


How Do I Make Tofu Marsala?

Here is how you make Tofu Marsala:

1. Drain liquid from tofu and rinse thoroughly with water.2. Slice into 8 equal pieces and pat dry with paper towel.3. Salt and pepper liberally.4. Combine flour and cornstarch and dredge tofu slices in mixture.5. Melt butter in oil and saute tofu slices 3 minutes per side.6. Place on baking sheet in 300 degree oven to keep warm.7. In same pan, saute shallot and onion until shallot begins to become translucent and mushrooms begin to soften.8. Salt and pepper mixture. Deglaze pan with wine. Then add stock and tomato paste. Cook until sauce begins to thicken.9. Place some of sauce on bottom of rectangular baking dish. Add tofu and cover with sauce.
