What Are The Ingredients For Steamed Veggies with Dill Recipe? The ingredients for Steamed Veggies with Dill are: 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil1/4 - 1/3 cup water 1 1/2 cup, fresh carrots sliced fairly thin 4 large stalks of celery sliced to about 1/2 inch 1 large onion, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped 3/4 tsp dried dill weed 1/4 tsp salt (or some dashes) 1/2 tsp black pepper 2 1/2 - 3 cups fresh cabbage, coarsely chopped 2 cups fresh mushroom slices How Do I Make Steamed Veggies with Dill? Here is how you make Steamed Veggies with Dill: I used a very large stainless steel skillet with a glass lid which worked perfectly, but another skillet or dutch oven would work as long as it has a lid. I layered and didn't even stir until I saw that the veggies on top were nearly done. If you lift the lid a lot you may need a bit more water due to steam loss.Add olive oil and water to skillet. Layer carrots and celery over the bottom. Next, layer onion and bell pepper. Sprinkle entire surface with dill weed, salt and black pepper. Layer cabbage and mushrooms on top. Do NOT stir yet so that the carrots and celery will start cooking first while the other veggies are getting steamed. Cover and turn on low-medium heat. I didn't time it, but I think I cooked it 10-15 minutes, until I could tell the cabbage was getting steamed. The cabbage had mostly turned translucent. Then I stirred and cooked 1-2 more minutes, then removed it from the heat. If you like crispier veggies, cook less time. If you like very soft, cook a little longer. My goal was in the middle, semi-crispy.Serving Size: approx. 1 to 1 1/2 cupsNumber of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user CHICA1975.What's The Nutritional Info For Steamed Veggies with Dill? The nutritional information for Steamed Veggies with Dill is:
