What Are The Ingredients For Grandma's Chicken and Dumplings Recipe?The ingredients for Grandma's Chicken and Dumplings are: 1 whole chicken, cut up2 boxes of Swanson 100% Natural Chicken Broth 2 Carrots, broken in half 1 onion, chopped in half 2 sticks of Celery, broken in half Spices (Salt, pepper, parsley, etc.) 1 box of Anne's Old-Fashioned Flat Dumplings How Do I Make Grandma's Chicken and Dumplings?Here is how you make Grandma's Chicken and Dumplings: In a large pot, add the chicken, carrots, onion and celery. Sprinkle your seasonings of choice into the pot then pour chicken broth until the pot is full (but not overfilled). Bring the pot to a boil and then let it simmer about 2-4 hours. If you have a problem with it boiling over, put a wooden spoon over the top of the pot. After it boils for awhile, use a slotted spoon to remove the vegetables. You can either eat these of throw them away. Next, remove the chicken and put it on a cutting board to cool. Bring the remaining broth to a boil and begin to add dumplings, 8-10 to a time and bringing it back to a boil after adding each batch. After they are all added, let them boil for about 10 minutes. While it is boiling, cut up the chicken into small chunks to be added back to the pot. After 10 minutes, add the chicken in and let the water boil for 2 more minutes. Cover the pot and remove it from the heat.
