What Are The Ingredients For Non-Purist's Chili Recipe?The ingredients for Non-Purist's Chili are: 1 tbls olive oil1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey 1 package Chorizo, (4 links, each 4" long) 2 large onions, chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed 4 cups green peppers, chopped 2 cups red peppers, chopped 2 large cans (approx. 28 oz each) crushed tomatoes 1 small can (approx. 14 oz) diced tomatoes 2 bottles of your favorite beer 1 cup black beans 2 cups red kidney beans 1 cup garbanzo beans 1 envelope French's Chili-O Seasoning Mix salt & pepper to taste additional hot sauce, cumin, or chili powder to taste How Do I Make Non-Purist's Chili?Here is how you make Non-Purist's Chili: Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or soup pot over medium heat. Brown the ground turkey, breaking the meat up into chunks. Remove the casing on the Chorizo and cut into pieces. When the turkey is browned, add the Chorizo and brown it.Add the chopped onions to the pot and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic, cook for an additional minute or so, and then add all of the peppers. Cook for a few more minutes.Pour in both bottles of beer and stir to deglaze the pot. Pour in all the cans of tomatoes. Add the packet of chili seasoning. If you are using canned beans, rinse them well, then add them to the pot. Add any additional chili powder, hot sauce, or salt and pepper.Turn the heat down to simmer and cook until the vegetables are as soft as you like them. I usually cook it about half an hour but I like my vegetables al dente.Serve over rice or corn bread. I dish out about 2 soup ladels-full, or about 1 1/3 cups. The recipe makes quite a few servings and the chili freezes well. I measure out individual servings, freeze the containers, and pack them in my lunch.
