Here is how you make Russian Borsch:

Place pork chops in the cooking pot .Add water approximately 2-3 cups, let it cook for about 20 min while getting other ingredients ready.Meanwhile, saute chopped onion and shredded carrots and add to the pot when slightly browned.Shred cabbage and add to the pot. Cut peeled potatoes and add to the pot. Peel raw beets and shred them, after that they can be added to the pot but if you want nice , rich red color saute in the pan and add last. (This will help keep color and make your borsch really red.)After ALL ingredients are in bring to boil then turn off the stove, cover pot, but let cooking pot sit and simmer until cool.Serve with parsley and 1tsp of sour cream or yogurt to taste.
