Here is how you make ham, bean and kale soup:

Saute kale part of the onion and garlic in a pan with small amount of the chicken stock until the kale has softened- about 20-30 minutes. Saute onion, diced carrots, celery, ham and garlic in a soup pot- add small amount of chicken stock as needed, Once aromatic and onions are translucent add stock, bay leaf and ground mustrad. Simmer for 1/2 hour; add beans and kale and simmer until hot. I usually add some cornstarch to slightly thicken the soup, but not needed if you prefer thinner stock.
