The ingredients for Ham Potato Soup are:

1 stick butter, salted
2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup flour
6 cups sliced carrots
2 cups celery, sliced
3 cups cubed ham
7 cups diced potato
8 cups water
1 tablespoon Better than Bouillon Ham Base
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp black pepper
8 slices Kraft 2% American Cheese Singles
1 cup heavy cream (or 1 cup plain non-dairy creamer)


How Do I Make Ham Potato Soup?

Here is how you make Ham Potato Soup:

Melt butter over medium heat in a large heavy bottomed soup pot; add the onions and saute until translucent. Sprinkle the flour over the cooked onions stirring until the flour is all moistened. Cook stirring constantly for 1 minute. Whisk in the water all at once. Add the ham base, garlic powder, celery salt and black pepper. Increase heat to high and add the carrots, celery and ham. Bring to a boil and then add the potatoes. Return to a boil and immediately reduce the heat and simmer stirring frequently until potatoes are fork-tender but not mushy. Turn heat off and add the cheese slices, stirring until completely melted. Add heavy cream (or whisk in non-dairy creamer) and serve.Serving Size:2 cups of soup
