Place butter, celery, onion, & carrots in large saucepan. Steam 5 min. Add potatoes & H2O. In small bowl, beat egg. Add 1/2 salt and enough flour to make hard dry ball of dough. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon into veggie/water & simmer covered until veggies are tender & dumplings are cooked.(about 10 min.-stir occasionly).Add milk, salt, pepper. Stir.
