Red Ripe Tomatoes, 6 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) (or 19oz can)
Carrots, raw, 1 large chopped
Celery, raw, 2 stalks chopped
Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
Jalapeno Peppers, 1 large or 2small peppers chopped and seeds removed
Garlic, 2 tsp
1tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp each coriander and paprika
1/4 tsp chili powder and pepper

Here is how you make Smoky Sausage Soup:

Saute onions until golden. Add spices and cook for another minute or so. Deglaze pan with some of the broth. Put all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours. Alternatively, saute sausages then add onions and remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 minutes or so, until everything is cooked.This recipe can be adapted to whatever sausage and veggies you have on hand. The important ingredients are the seasonings, tomatoes and broth.
