1 tsp. fennel seed
2 cups (about 1 can) black eyed peas, rinsed & drained
1 28-oz. can no-salt-added crushed tomatoes
1 T. tomato puree
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth or water (more/less to desired consistency)

Instructions are for crock pot:Combine crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, and black-eyed peas in crock pot. Turn to high heat.Heat 1 T. oil in a large skillet. Add turkey, season to taste with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Add turkey to crock pot.Add remaining 1 T. oil to skillet. Add vegetables and spices, including salt & pepper to taste, and cook until vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes. Add vegetables to crock pot.Cook chili in crock pot for 2 hours on high.
