Microwave for about eight minutes, or until the cauliflower is very soft. Add the butter and garlic powder, mash until it resembles slightly watery mashed potatoes. Spread in the bottom of a 9 by 9 inch pan.In a large skillet, cook the sausage and chopped onions together until the meat is no longer pink. Spread over the mashed cauliflower.Using a food processor (a manual one gives you more control), almost puree the diced tomatoes (with juice) until it looks like a slightly chunky tomato sauce. Pour in the skillet used to cook the sausage. Ad the tomato sauce, brown sugar, garlic, onion, and chili powders, paprika, and thyme. Cook over medium heat until it's a little thicker than barbecue sauce. Pour over the sausage.
