2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp Better than Boullion or other Beef Base
1 tbsp Mushroom Onion or Beefy Onion soup mix

How Do I Make Farro with Beef, Broccoli, and Mushroom?

Here is how you make Farro with Beef, Broccoli, and Mushroom:

In large pot or deep pan dissolve Beef Base in 2 cups water. Add the olive oil to keep grains from sticking. Be sure your pot is large enough for grain to expand as it cooks. Bring to a boil and add farro. Allow entire contents to come a consistent boil, then reduce heat to low/med-low and simmer, partially covered, for 30 minutes. Removed lid, and stir carefully to avoid mashing the grains. While farro is cooking, brown ground beef with onion soup mix in separate pan. When beef is almost completely browned, drain off most of the oil (leaving only enough to keep food from sticking), then add the chopped vegetables and remaining seasonings. (Carrots should be slivered or diced to allow them to cook in time with the other ingredients.) Cover and cook for appr 5 min. to tenderize vegetables, then remove lid and continue cooking--stirring occasionally and carefully--till vegetables are cooked crisp-tender. Remove from heat and stir mixture into cooked farro, turning carefully to avoid over-mixing the grains or veggies. Leave lid off and heat on med-low for appr 5 minutes to absorb any remaining beef broth and allow flavors to blend. Remove from heat, let stand appr 5 minutes, then fluff and serve. Serving Size:?Makes appr. six 1-cup servings
