1/2 cup Flour
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
8 medium Carrots

3 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet - Browning Sauce (optional)



How Do I Make Power Cooker Beef Stew?

Here is how you make Power Cooker Beef Stew:

Preparation:1. Trim any excess fat off beef. Cut into cubes, about 1" square.2. Scrub vegetables; slice into 1" chunks.3. Place the flour into a 1 gallon Ziplock plastic bag (or large bowl with cover). Add the meat cubes & shake to coat.4. Heat the olive oil in a cast iron skillet on med-high heat (or heat-resistant non-stick). Add the floured meat (and any excess flour). Brown meat, turning occasionally, about 5 min.5. Place meat in Power Cooker. Add 2 cups of beef broth to the skillet & stir the bottom to loosen any browned bits, then pour broth into cooker.6. Seal the pressure vent, and the Power Cooker lid lock. Select the Meat setting & 10 minutes cooking time.7. When timer shuts off, carefully release the pressure vent valve. Once all steam escapes, remove the lid.8. Add all your vegetables including garlic; then add remaining broth, enough to cover the vegetables. You may need to add a small amount of water, but Be sure to not overfill your cooker.Add black pepper & stir to mix meat with veggies.9. Reseal the pressure vent, and lid. On Stew setting, set Timer for 40 min.10. When Timer goes off, release pressure as before.11. Check vegetables to see if done to your taste. 12. With lid off, you can continue heating the stew. Add the Kitchen Bouquet sauce if needed for color & flavor, and a thickening agent if you prefer. (Cook for some additional minutes if needed to soften vegetables to taste & thicken.)Serving Size:?16 1-cup servings
