What Are The Ingredients For Dirty Rice Recipe?

The ingredients for Dirty Rice are:

1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbs EVOO
1 lb ground turkey
2 cups white rice
1 14.5 oz can beef/chicken broth low sodium
5 cups water
1 Tbs tomato paste
2 whole bay leaves







How Do I Make Dirty Rice?

Here is how you make Dirty Rice:

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Add ground turkey and cook until brown. Add rice and stir well(If you feel there is too much oil at this point you can drain the meat and onions before adding rice). Add bell pepper. Stir in the broth and water. When this is blended, add the tomato paste. Stir until it is dissoled into the meat and rice mixture. Simmer this until the rice is almost done and add the bay leaves. Simmer until the rice is tender and remove the bay leaves.Note: I use low sodium broth to keep my salt intake down. You can adjust the onion, garlic and bell pepper to suit your taste.
