Here is how you make Southwestern Hamburger Soup:

Add onions and garlic to a large pot and saute until slightly translucent. Add Beef and brown. Drain off excess fat. Add Chili powder, cilantro and cumin and stir until fragrant, roughly 2 minutes over medium heat. Add sweet potato and cook for 5mins. Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20mins or until sweet potato is cooked. Add cheese, sour cream or plain yogurt before serving if you'd like.
