1 large sweet onion, chopped
2 large carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery chopped
3 tsp. fresh thyme, chopped
1 bay leaf
3 c Kitchen Basic Unsalted Chicken Stock (you could sub water, but this makes extra flavorful soup)
1 tbsp black pepper
3 cups ham (I just stuck the bone part in, but you can cube it if you'd like)

Pour split peas into slow cooker. Place ham on top, followed by chopped vegetables, thyme, bay leaf, and pepper. Pour stock over everything, and cook for 8 hours on low.
