This is another recipe variation from a recipe on Spark. I used 93/7 ground turkey at $7.18 for 3 lbs because to buy 3 lbs of 15% lean ground beef was close to $12. Ouch!!! I also added approximately 1/4 Italian bread crumbs just to help the burger stay together. I really did get 8 burgers out of the mixture that fit the buns perfectly. My daughter asked what the black things were before I cooked them and I fibbed and told her it was seasoning because I was afraid my picky eaters would balk if they knew it was actually beans. I was pleasantly surprised when both my daughter and my guy said "these are definitely a keeper". Preheat oven to broilDrain and rinse beans. Mash with a fork or potato masher.Add turkey, onions, and seasoning salt. Mix well. Add bread crumbs as needed to make the mixture a little stiffer so it will hold together. Separate into 8 balls. Wet your hands slightly so the mixture wont stick to your hands and flatten into patties. Broil (or BBQ) for 5 minutes.
