6.3 C. Whole Wheat Flour ( use a high quality one, better fiber and protein)
2 C> warm water ( @ 100 degrees)
1 C.lowfat milk
1/2 C. Honey
1.5 TBSP Fleishmans Yeast ( I am NOT a fan of redstar)
1 TBSP Kosher or Sea Salt
4 TBSP Melted Butter


How Do I Make Yummy Healthy Whole Wheat Bread?

Here is how you make Yummy Healthy Whole Wheat Bread:

In a 4 C. Measuring cup ( easy shortcut), measure 2 C. Water, Add milk until total volume is 3 cups. Add honey to the mix until measuring cup reflects 3.5 C Total in volume. You can absolutely individually measure this, this is just a shortcut based upon my experience/laziness. Add Salt, and butter... I tend to warm this in the microwave for about one minute, until butter is soft or slightly melted, and the mixture is warm, but not hot (@ 100 degrees). Sprinkle yeast over this mix, it doesn't need to totally dissolve, its OK if it's lumpy and wierd... In a separate mixing bowl, measure out flour. I have a kitchen aid stand mixer ( counter type version) BUT, you can help burn off calories by hand mixing this with a large wooden spoon. Add liquid mixture to flour gently, folding in the fluid and flour... This dough should be full folded, VERY sticky and not something you would knead by hand, it's really very user friendly... After you have fully mixed this, put in a large bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for @ 1.5 hours.... When this is done rising, you can split this in to three sections, and actually refrigerate some dough in a ziplock bag for later use in the week ( leave it slightly unzipped so that gasses can escape). To bake: place in prepared bread pan ( I use the fat free spray and put oatmeal on the bottom of the pan so it doesn't stick, AND it looks cool).. Allow your bread to rise about 2 hours in the breadpan, and bake in a 375 oven between 38-45 minutes depending on how your oven runs. Bread will be toasty lovely, and needs to cool a bit prior to slicing. This is a good basic bread, and you can add raisins and cinnamon for a nice breakfast bread, OR dried cranberries (yum)...
