Here is how you make Susan's Breakfast Strata:

Cube bread into bite-size pieces. Layer bottom of 8x11 biscuit pan with half of the cubes. Layer onions and ham and 1/2 of the cheese. Layer remaining bread and the rest of the cheese. Beat eggs with milk, salt and pepper until well blended and pour of the top - evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, remove the plastic wrap and cover with foil. Preheat oven to 375 deg. Bake covered for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake another 15 minutes to brown.
