What Are The Ingredients For Sausage and Leek Casserole Recipe?The ingredients for Sausage and Leek Casserole are: oil, for sauteing3 cups sliced leeks (clean well, use white parts only) 3/4 tsp. salt, divided in 2 1/2 tsp. pepper, divided in 2 1/4 red pepper flakes 1/4 cayenne pepper, divided in 2 1 1/2 lb pork sausage (we use 2/3 regular, 1/3 hot) 12 large eggs 1 1/2 c. 1% milk 3/4 c. heavy cream 3/4 loaf french baguette 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1 1/2 c. shredded pepper jack cheese How Do I Make Sausage and Leek Casserole?Here is how you make Sausage and Leek Casserole: heat oil in skillet, saute leeks with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, red pepper flakes and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. When leeks are translucent, raise heat to high and add sausage. Cook until browned. Remove from heat to cool. In another bowl, whisk eggs with milk, cream and remaining 1/4 tsp salt, pepper and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. Remove crust from bread, leaving as much white inner bread as possible. Cut into cubes and put into 9X13 casserole pan that has been greased. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Pour sausage mixture on top. Pour egg mixture on top of that and then sprinkle pepper jack cheese to top it off. Cover with plastic wrap and refridgerate overnight. Heat oven to 375. Bake for about 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean...do not over bake.
