Cream together sugar and butter; add egg, vanilla, then flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix well. Add oats and cheese; stir in cherries and apple. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
