a dash of salt
1/3 cup Country crock
1/2 cup half and half
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg.


How Do I Make Classic Cream Scones?

Here is how you make Classic Cream Scones:

In a food processor, add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pulse to mix. Add cold country crock and pulse til mixture resembles course meal (just a few of seconds). In a measuring cup, add half and half, the egg and vanilla. Beat with a fork. Turn on the processor and add the cream mixture to the dry. Dough is done when it forms a ball and follows the blade (again, just a few seconds). Turn out onto a floured surface and gently knead to form a ball. Flatten slightly with your hands and place on an ungreased baking sheet.Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.Cut into 8 wedges.Serve with Jam and whipped cream.Number of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user LLKOOLMOM5.
