Making a Frittata is not an exact science. It is very forgiving and you can switch out ingredients and substitute to your liking (I'm throwing spinach in my next one!). By using half egg whites in this, the fat and calories is reduced significantly. This recipe is adapted from an omelet recipe I found in my Jamie Oliver cookbook. I got rave reviews from my family and my husband wanted the whole thing to himself :) And it looks gorgeous when it comes out - I wish I would've gotten a photo! What Are The Ingredients For Half and Half Chorizo Frittata Recipe?The ingredients for Half and Half Chorizo Frittata are: 6 eggs6 egg whites 6-8 cherry tomatoes, cut in quarters, seeds removed 3 oz. spanish chorizo, sliced or chopped 1/4 C green onion (spring onion), chopped 1/4 of red or yellow bell pepper, chopped 3 T fresh parsley, finely chopped salt or salt alternative (to liking) pepper, black (to liking) dash garlic powder fresh or dried cilantro (to liking) crushed red pepper (to liking) How Do I Make Half and Half Chorizo Frittata?Here is how you make Half and Half Chorizo Frittata: Chop and dice everything and throw it in a medium sized bowl with the eggs and egg whites. Then whisk thoroughly and pour into pie pan (lightly sprayed with healthy cooking oil). Cook at 350 degrees for approximately 30-40 minutes, until cooked all the way through. You'll see it start to "set" in the center. If you're unsure, just insert a toothpick in center...if it comes out clean, it's done. Optional: Top with a T of grated parmesan or cheese of your liking. Feta would be great too.
