3 Tbsps honey
2 pkgs yeast
1 tsp salt
7 2/3 C whole wheat flour
1/3 C milled flax seed



How Do I Make Whole Grain Bagels?

Here is how you make Whole Grain Bagels:

in very large bowl, mix water honey and yeast. set aside for 5-10 min. add the salt to half the flour, beat into liquid. beat 3 minutes.turn out on floured board and knead in ramaining flour. knead well for 10 min.place in greased bowl and turn to coat well. cover with plastic wrap. set aside for 1 hour to rise.bring large pot of water and 2 tbsps sugar to a boil. punch down the dough and divide into 18 equal pieces. shape each into a ball, flatten and poke a hole into each. gently drop a few bagels into the water. boil for 2 minutes. using a slotted spoon, remove and drain. repeat with rest of bagels.place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in preheated 400 degrees F oven for 20 min or golden brown.makes 18 bagels.Number of Servings: 18Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SHARONH12.
