What Are The Ingredients For Grandma Kingan's Granola Recipe?The ingredients for Grandma Kingan's Granola are: 3 lb. old fashioned oats1 lb. raw, grated coconut (I use chipped) UNSWEETENED 3/4 lb. wheat germ (not toasted) 1 c. Each of sunflower & pumpkin seeds 1/2 c. Sesame seeds, NOT toasted 1 c. Each almonds, walnuts, cashews and/or pecans (I use all four) 2 lb. honey 1 c. Sunflower or vegetable oil 1 Tbl vanilla 1 c. Each raisins, dried cranberries, and chopped dates How Do I Make Grandma Kingan's Granola?Here is how you make Grandma Kingan's Granola: Mix all but honey, oil, vanilla and dried fruit. Warm honey, oil and vanilla in small pan. Whisk briefly them pour over dry ingredients. Mix THOROUGHLY. Bake in/on large pans at 300 degrees until very lightly golden, stirring often. (The amount of time will vary depending on your pan. The deeper the pan and granola, the longer it will take. A rimmed baking sheet with granola only an inch or less deep may only take 10-15 minutes and get stirred twice. A turkey roaster with several inches of granola should be stirred every 15 minutes or so and may take an hour.)Once baked, allow to cool and crisp at room temperature before stirring in dried fruit.
