2 tbsp butter or vegetable oil spread

Here is how you make Whole Wheat Flax and Honey Pancakes:

In a large mixing bowl, combine all your dry ingredients. If your flaxseed isn't pre-ground, do so beforehand in a food processor. In a second mixing bowl, beat your egg then add milk until fully combined. Melt your butter or spread in your microwave or on your stovetop, then add to your liquid mixture. Then quickly whisk the honey into it. Add the wet mixture to the dry and (this part is important), whisk until *barely* combined. You want your mixture to still have some lumps in it; otherwise your pancakes will be flat. Heat your griddle pan on low (this part is also important) and use a 1/4 cup measuring spoon for scooping out the mixture. Cook evenly on each side for 2-4 minutes or until golden brown.
