1 tsp. Baking soda
3/4 cup of butter or margrine (I use butter)
1 1/2 C Milk soured (add vinegar to sour milk)


How Do I Make Kathleen's English Scones?

Here is how you make Kathleen's English Scones:

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl and combine well. Cut butter into small pat's and cut into flour mixture until it resembles fine and medium crumbs. Make a well in the center of the bowl and add the milk all at once. Mix to combine. Mixture will be slightly sticky. Dust a board with flour and turn mixture out onto the board and knead gently 2 or 3 times; adding a bit of flour if needed. Pat or roll (I pat) into a round our rectangle and cut with 2" biscut cutter, juice glass or into triangles. Yeild will depend on size.Place onto greased baking sheet and bake at 425 for about 10 mins.
