1 large egg
1 Tbsp Fat Free Hazelnut Coffee Creamer (Coffeemate brand used in this recipe)
1/3 cup (approx) Milk (1% used in this recipe)
2 Tbsp. Canola Oil (Cooking Spray could be used instead to save some calories)


How Do I Make Hazelnut Whole Wheat French Toast?

Here is how you make Hazelnut Whole Wheat French Toast:

Using an electric griddle (or your choice of equipment) coat with cooking oil, and heat to medium/high for about 2 minutes. While the griddle is heating up combine and beat batter ingredients- eggs, milk, and coffee creamer. Dip each slice of bread in the batter, making sure to coat each side of bread evenly with batter. When the oil is hot enough (but not too hot- about 2-3 minutes should be plenty!) place each slice of bread in the griddle. Cook no longer than I'd say 3 minutes for each side... but keep a close eye and if this is too long or not enough time, adjust for that. Turn your pieces of toast just once and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes. I like to serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of pancake syrup (obviously I have a sweet tooth)... but I also think that serving this with some sliced bananas and light dusting of powdered sugar would be equally delicious!Number of Servings: 2Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user KADI1013.
