50g (2oz) dark chocolate drops (or plain chocolate broken into small pieces)
150g (5oz) soft light brown sugar
2 eggs
50g (2oz) self-raising flour
icing pens, to decorate (optional)

Here is how you make Chocolate scribble cake:

1. Set the oven to 180c (350f) gas mark 4. Place a square of nonstock baking paper in the bottom of the baking tin.2. Place the margarine and chocolate in a small heatproof bowl. Boil the kettle and pout approximately 5 cm (2 inches) of water into the small pan and then place on a low heat.3. Place the heatproof bowl containing the chocolate and butter over this simmering water so that it is suspended on the top of the suacepan and the choclate wil melt slowly.4. Break the eggs into a large mixing bowl, then add the sugar and sift in the flour. Stir together vigorously.5. Stir the melted chocolate and butter and carefully pour it into the mixing bowl. Mix together until you have a smooth goo.6. Pour the mixture into the tin using a spatula to scrape every last bit from the bowl, then place on the top shelf of the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until just firm when you toch it very gently in the middle of the top.7 Allow the cake to cool in the tin and then cut it into 9 pieces in the tin.8.
