With a mixer, beat the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift together the remaining ingredients except for the oats. Combine the wet and the dry, and stir in the oats. Don't use quick-cooking oats for this. Roll into 2-inch balls (you should have about 16 cookies per batch) and bake for 22-25 minutes.
