1.25 cups tomato sauce
1/4 cup each: brown sugar, dry sherry, soy sauce, ketchup, cider vinegar
14-ounce can garbanzo beans
14-ounce can cut green beans
14-ounce can sweet yellow corn
Herbs, salt, pepper to taste


How Do I Make Sweet and Sour Mixed Bean Hot Pot?

Here is how you make Sweet and Sour Mixed Bean Hot Pot:

Preheat over to 400 degrees. Thinly slice the potatoes and part-boil them for 4 minutes. Drain the potatoes, toss them in olive oil to coat and set aside.Place the butter, flour, tomato sauce, sugar, ketchup, sherry, vinegar, and soy sauce in a saucepan. Heat gently, whisking, until it comes to a boil and thickens. Simmer for 3 minutes.Drain and add the garbanzo beans, green beans, and corn to the sauce with all the remaining ingredients. Mix well.Spoon the mixture into a casserole dish. Arrange the potato slices over the top of the dish, overlapping them slightly and completely covering the bean mixture.Cover the casserole with foil and bake for about an hour, until the potatoes are cooked and tender. Remove the foil for the last 20 minutes of cooking time, to lightly brown the potatoes.Makes 6 servings.You can cut down on sugar/sodium content by altering the amount of brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce.
