1 Lb ground turkey (original recipes calls for beef)
1 Cup brown rice (original call s for minute rice)
1 small to medium cabbage chopped
1 small onion
1 Can tomato soup
1 Can stewed or diced tomatoes with itlaian seasoning
1/3 Cup chopped celery (not in original)
1/3 Cup grated or finely diced carrot (not in original)
2 Tbsp diced garlic (not in original)
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp each dry parsley and paprika

Here is how you make Cabbage and "Beef":

Cook pearl barley as package instructs. Preheat oven to 350.In large skillet or pot (one that is oven safe is referable) Saute onion, celery, carrot, and garlic in olive oil until onion softens. In same pan brown turkey with spices. Add cooked barley, cabbage, soup, and tomatoes. Stir. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.(I entered the recipe using brown rice to make the instructions simpler. I have been making it with cooked pearl barley for even more protein and fiber. The flavor is great but the moisture content can be off because the barley just keep soaking up liquids. If you try it with barley add at least a half cup of water or broth with the soup. Tomato juice or an extra can of tomatoes might work too.
