What Are The Ingredients For Grandma's Empanadas Recipe?The ingredients for Grandma's Empanadas are: Empanada Filling:2 Green Peppers (chopped) 1 Peppers (chopped) 1 Jalapeno Pepper (chopped) 2 4 oz cans Green Chili Peppers 2 16oz cans re-fried beans no fat 2 Chicken Breast (shredded) 1 Onion (chopped) 1 pound Cheddar Cheese (shredded) 108 grams chopped Green Olives 2 tsp Paprika 2 tsp Oregano 2 tsp Garlic powder 2 tsp Cumin (ground) 2 tsp salt 2 tsp pepper 1 bunch Cilantro (raw) 2 tsp Cilantro (dried) 2 TBSPS Vegetable Oil Dough Ingredients: 6 cups Flour 1/2 tsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Baking Soda 1 tsp Salt 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil 1 Cup warm water How Do I Make Grandma's Empanadas?Here is how you make Grandma's Empanadas: Filling Directions:1. Boil chicken & shred.2. Shred cheese and set aside3. Chop all vegetables (& raw cilantro) and place in a large pot w/ 2 TBSP of vegetable oil. Add chicken.4. When onions look done (clear(ish)) add 2 cans of green chillies & re-fried beans.5. Add 2 tsps of Oregano, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper & cilantro. Mix well.Dough Directions:1. Sift 6 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda & 1/2 tsp paprika in a large bowl.2. Add 1/4 cup oil & 1 cup warm water. 3. Mix well. Then kneed for 3 minutes.4. Divide dough into 20 equal parts and use rolling pin to roll each portion out flat. 5. Place small amount of cheese on rolled out dough & then add approx 1 1/2 TBSP of filling mixture.6. Wrap filling mixture w/ dough so that the mixture is covered entirely then fry the empanada in a pan filled with the remaining 20 TBSP of vegetable oil. Have stove top heat on low to medium. 7. You will need to flip the empanada to fry both sides evenly.
