1/2 lb penne or fusilli ( tube or corkscrew- shaped pasta), preferably whole wheat
4 T grated parmesan cheese for the top

Here is how you make Simple Primavera with greens(Moosewood):

1) Trim the peas at both ends. Cut the pods in half across the middle (unless they're small, then just leave them whole).2) Cut scallions in half lengthwise then into 1 1/2 inch pieces.3) Cook the pasta.4) Heat the olive oil in a large wok or skillet. Add the greens first along with the salt. Saute for about 5 minutes, over high heat, then turn down and add peas, scallions, and garlic. Saute for 5 minutes more. Stir in the basil (or parsley) and black pepper during the last minute or so. 5) When the pasta is done, drain it. Then, add the pasta directly to the vegatbles in the wok (or skillet). Saute the pasta with the vegetables for 2-3 minutes, until everything is well mingled. Serve immediately. Some people prefer additional olive oil drizzled on top (not in calculation).
