How Do I Make My homemade Keema?

Here is how you make My homemade Keema:

1) grind or process the onion, garlic, chillis and ginger2) dry fry the onion mix until fragrant, keeping it moving to stop it sticking3) add the sweet potato and fry until it starts to colour, then add the spices and fry for 1 min. Remember to keep it moving so it doesn't stick!4) add the tomato and minced meat, then a cup of water and bring to the boil. Once boiling, stir, turn down the heat to low and cover.5) cook on low for one hour, stirring and topping up the water every 10 mins as required.6) 5 mins before the end of cooking time, add the peas and turn up the heat to reduce any remaining liquid (add more liquid first then reduce if required so peas can cook).7) Remove from heat, stir in the lime juice, greek yoghurt and chopped corianderServe on own with a salad, or over rice, cous cous etc, or with breads. Can be used as a pitta or tortilla filling with raitia etc.Make your own variations by changing the spices and volumes to suit, adding the whole can of tomatos instead of water, adding coconut milk during cooking, adding other veg (squash, carrots, cauliflower, aubergine) or legumes (chickpeas are good) and can be cooked in a slow cooker or in the oven instead. Just ensure that you add enough water at the start to keep it ticking over :) with rice or bread, 3 if only saladNumber of Servings: 4Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user MUMMEEEPEEG.
