Tomato Paste, 2 can (6 oz) Basil, 1 tsp Oregano, ground, 2 tsp Salt, 1 tbsp Pepper, black, 1/4 tsp Granulated Sugar, 1 tbsp Salt, 1 tbsp Olive Oil, 1 tbsp Mozzarella Cheese, part skim milk, 16 oz Parmesan Cheese, grated, 3 oz *Pasta, Lasagna Noodles, 8 oz *Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, 32 oz How Do I Make Old World Lasagna?Here is how you make Old World Lasagna: Using first 11 ingredients, make the tomatoe sauce for the pasta. 1. Slowly heat oil in a large, deep heavy skillet. in hot oil, saute onion, garlic, and parsley until onion is translucent and tender.2. Add Ground Turkey. You can substitute 1/2 lb of Ground Chuck, and 1/4 lb of Ground Pork if you are a diehard and want the beef flavor. I always make it with Ground Turkey and it tastes great.Saute the meat until it is browned.3. Add rest of sauce ingredients to skillet. Stir to mix well. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered for 3 hrs. Stir sauce occasionally during cooking.The last hour of the sauce cooking, you can start the noodles, etc.4. In a large kettle bring 3 quarts of water to a boil. Add the 1 tbsp of salt and the 1 tbsp of olive oil to the water.5. Add lasagna noodles 2 or 3 at a time to boiling water. Bring the water back to a boil.6. Drain noodles and rinse under hot water.7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish.8. To Assemble Lasagna, spoon a third of the tomatoe sauce evenly in the bottom of the dish. Over sauce layer 1/3 of each: noodles, mozzarella, and parmesan. If you like Ricotta Cheese, you can layer that in as well.9. Repeat layering twice until all ingredients is used. You should end with the parmesan cheese.10. Bake uncovered 45-50 minutes or until cheese is melted and the top is browned.11.
