8 cloves garlic, peeled
2 tsp. whole coriander seeds
2 tbsp. whole black peppercorns
2 tbsp. Thai fish sauce
2 heads broccoli, cut into florets
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
1 tsp. olive oil


How Do I Make Thai Pepper Steak?

Here is how you make Thai Pepper Steak:

Trim any fat off round steak, then slice into 1/4-inch thick strips (acoss the grain). Combine garlic, coriander, and peppercorns to a mortar and pestle and grind till smooth paste forms. Stir in fish sauce. (Alternately, you can put garlic, coriander, peppercorns, and fish sauce into a mini food processor and grind to a lumpy paste--this isn't as smooth as using the mortar and pestle, but it's a lot faster, and just as tasty!) Combine meat and garlic mixture in shallow dish and marinate at least 15-30 minutes in the fridge. Heat sesame and olive oils in large wok over medium high heat. Add meat and marinade and stir fry 4 minutes. Add broccoli, stir to coat with juices, and cover. Cook for another 4 minutes, or till broccoli is steamed and meat is done. Serve with rice or noodles.
