What Are The Ingredients For Cindy's Easy Shepherd's Pie Recipe?The ingredients for Cindy's Easy Shepherd's Pie are: 1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey (beef in nutrition info)1/2 large onion, diced 1 cup baby carrots, diced 1 cup canned mushrooms (use a pint of fresh) 1 cup frozen yellow corn kernels 1 can fat-free beef broth 3 garlic cloves, minced 2 T cornstarch 2 T worcestershire sauce 1 T garlic powder 2 t dried thyme salt and pepper to taste 2 cups of prepared Betty Crocker Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes (using fat-free milk and reduced fat margarine) How Do I Make Cindy's Easy Shepherd's Pie?Here is how you make Cindy's Easy Shepherd's Pie: Preheat oven to 375.Brown ground beef in large skillet or saucepan, (drain grease if there is any) add carrots and onion and saute until softened. Add garlic, garlic powder, mushrooms, worcestershire, thyme and salt and pepper. Allow mixture to saute/simmer on med/low for a few minutes.Combine cornstarch with about 1/4 cup of beef broth, shaking or whisking to remove any lumps, add to meat mixture, stir well. increase heat to medium and when the liquid is absorbed/thickened, add the remaining beef broth. Allow to bubble and thicken, then lower heat and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes.In another saucepan, prepare mashed potatoes according to low-fat instructions, set aside.Place meat mixture in a 9 x 13 baking or casserole dish. Top with mashed potatoes and cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly. Serve hot with crusty bread (not included in nutritional info).Can be prepared ahead of time. Baking time will need 30 minutes or so.
