2. 8 medium sized red potatoes chopped up
3. 2 cups of sliced mushrooms
4. 1 bag of frozen mixed corn & carrots
5. 1 medium onion diced
6. 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
7. 1/2 cup of low fat milk
8. 1/2 stick of butter
9. 1 cup each of shredded sharp cheddar and parmesan
10. 1 tsp. garlic powder
11. 2 tbsp. minced garlic
12. 1 tsp. Basil
13. 1 tsp. Thyme
14. 1 tsp. Oregano
15. 1 tsp. Salt & Pepper each
16. 2 tbsp. flour
17. 1 cup red wine or substitute low sodium beef broth



How Do I Make Shepperds Pie?

Here is how you make Shepperds Pie:

Start browning meat in large cast iron Dutch Oven or suitable skillet (something oven proof) at medium high heat breaking up the meat. After it starts to brown add onions and minced Garlic and saut? for 2 minutes occasionally stirring then add the mushrooms and Worcestershire Sauce stir for another couple of minutes and then add 12 - 15 and stir occasionally for 5 minutes. Next add the flour and mix well then add the wine then the frozen peas and carrots. Once the mixture starts to bubble again, lower the heat to a simmer, cover and cook for an additional 20 minutes.While the stew is simmering make your mashed potatoes , add the butter, milk, garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste and then fold in the cheese. Set oven to 400 degrees and layer over the stew, use a fork to create peaks and put in oven for 5-10 minutes to slightly brown the tips of the potatoes and firm them up.
