1- 1.25 lb package of 93% lean ground turkey
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 small green, red, and yellow peppers, chopped
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp red cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed

How Do I Make Healthy Dirty Brown Rice?

Here is how you make Healthy Dirty Brown Rice:

1) Cook the 2 cups of brown rice according to the package directions.2) While rice is cooking cook ground turkey, onion, peppers and spices over medium-high heat until browned and vegetables are soft and all the moisture/water from the vegetables has cooked away.3) Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to pan and stir in cooked rice to "fry" and combine flavors.4) Finally add soy sauce and black beans and mix until warm throughout.Serving Size: Makes approximately 8 1- cup servingsNumber of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user TURBOGINGA.
