Here is how you make Balsamic Barbecue Sauce:

For approx. 8 chicken breasts.Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Simmer over medium heat until reduced by 1/3, about 15-20 mins.Place a grill pan over medium heat or preheat an outdoor grill. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepperGrill the chicken for about 10 mins per side, brushing the chicken with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce for the last 2-3 mins. Serve with remaining bbq sauce alongside.If you prefer not to grill, the chicken can be baked. Place the chiken, skin side up in a baking dish for 35 mins in a 375 F oven. Remove the dish from the oven and spoon the bbq sauce all over the top of the chicken.
