1/4 cup real goodness nonfat milk
1/8 cup shredded taco cheese
10 - 12 medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tblsp. hot sauce
1 tblsp. worchestire sauce
1/2 lime, juiced
4 tsp. cajun seasoning
1/2 tsp. black pepper, divided
1 tsp. salt, divided
1/4 cup finely chopped baby carrot
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
1 small clove garlic
1/2 medium tomato
1 tblsp. olive oil
2 tsp. margarine


How Do I Make Cheesy Creamy Shrimp and Grits?

Here is how you make Cheesy Creamy Shrimp and Grits:

Place shrimp in bowl, sprinkle with cajun seasoning, lime juice, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, hot sauce and worchestire sauce. Place in fridge to marinate while preparing rest of meal. Bring chicken broth, water, and milk to boil. Add 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper. Whisk in grits slowly to prevent sticking. Cover and turn to low. Cook 12 - 15 minutes stirring every few minutes. If too thick, add additional chicken broth to thin. When thoroughly cooked, stir in cheese. Cover and remove from heat.While grits are cooking saute carrots, celery, and onion in small frying pan 5 minutes. Add green pepper, cook till soft. If becomes too brown, add chicken broth to pan. Add garlic and shrimp. Cook till pink. Just before shrimp is done add tomatoes.Place grits in bowl, pour shrimp mixture over top.
