I did not have dried limas, so substituted a mixture of dried beans with excellent results. This recipe is a keeper for us. I would like to try it with ham or smoked sausage for a more smoky flavor. Also, I had a turnip in the fridge I needed to use and threw it in for good measure. Could be an added ingredient if you like. Very tasty.
