2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 cups skim milk

Here is how you make Broccoli Cheese Soup:

Simmer broccoli in water for 15 minutes.Saute onions in butter until translucent, add milk to onion mixture. Once the milk is heated add it to the pot with the broccoli and water (do not drain the broccoli). Do not allow milk to boil.Turn heat down to low.Cut Velveeta light cheese into cubes and add to the pot. Stir constantly until cheese melts. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the pot. Turn heat up to medium and stir constantly until soup thickens to desired consistency.
