Here is how you make Mudd Soup:

Soak 2 cups dry black beans overnight. Soak hamhock for 15 - 30 minutes. Dice up veggys. Add beans, veggys and hamhock into a large pot or dutch oven. Cook for 2 hours, checking for seasoning every 30 - 45 minutes. Once beans are mostly cooked, add rice. Cover and cook until rice is cooked.
