2 clove garlic, minced
2 TBSP butter or margerine
5 cups chicken broth ( I use low fat low sodium)
1 1/2 tsp. snipped fresh basil or 1/2 tsp dry basil
1 tsp. fresh rosemary or 1/4 tsp. dry (crushed)
1 tsp. oregano (dry)
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 cup turkey or chicken
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
1/2 cup quick cook barley
1 16 oz can of tomatoes cut up

Rinse lentils, set aside. In dutch oven quick saute onions, peppers and garlic in butter till soft. Stir in chicken broth, basil,oregano,rosemary,pepper and lentils.
