How Do I Make Summer Squash Gratin?

Here is how you make Summer Squash Gratin:

Saute onions in pan with 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat until limp & beginning to brown. While onions are cooking, slice tomatoes and place in single layer in bottom of sprayed, 9/13" pan. Slice zucchini and place in single layer over tomatoes. Slice yellow summer squash, place in single layer over zucchini. When onions are done place evenly over yellow summer squash. Add salt, pepper and thyme. Top with cheese.
