Stir in onions and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and ham, cook for another 2 minutes. Stir in the chopped cabbage and water. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.Stir in potatoes, carrots and spices. Cover and simmer 10-12 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium low, stir in the greens, adjust seasonings if needed and cook for 10 minutes. Serve with bread (we opted out of the bread and added just a bit of colby jack cheese instead).**I put all the ingredients that needed to be chopped in the food processor.
